Jane Middelton-Moz (Interview featured on A Man's World, April 11, 2006)

Jane Middelton-Moz, is a therapist and a renowned trainer, consultant and community interventionist. She maintains that so many of us today lack the thread and rich hues that were once woven into the fabric which protected and held our ancestors together through challenging times. Family and community ties are often obscured today by cell phones, the Internet, multi-channel TV selections, videogames, fear, materialism and competition. In this interview on her recent book, "Values from the Font Porch", Jane explores 23 fundamental values and the importance of being more mindful of them in our day-to-day activities. So many of these are particularly vital for men in the enumerable leadership roles they perform.

Recognizing the central role that grandmothers have played in many cultures—that of handing down traditions and values to the younger generation—each chapter centers around recollections from people realizing what their grandmothers taught them about a particular virtue and how these teachings have aided them in their lives. "Values from the Front Porch" provides lessons we can incorporate in our own lines to create stronger and more joyful families and communities.
