Dr. Arnold Lazarus
(Interview featured on A Man's World, January 31, 2006)

Some years ago Dr. Arnold Lazarus, along with his son Clifford Lazarus hosted a call-in radio show out of Princeton New Jersey. As part of their routine they daily prepared a “mental health tip” to be delivered as part of the daily 5-6 p.m. news hour. Gathered together in their book, The 60 Second Shrink, these tips provide potent, simple, easily accessible information and direction on virtually any subject currently dealt with between therapist and patient.

The 60 Second Shrink offers over a hundred “morsels," each designed to help readers handle a key life issue and yet are brief enough to be read in about a minute. Beautifully articulate, and amazingly clear, Dr. Arnold Lazarus in this program will share vital comments on issues such as:

  • How to deal more effectively with anger, depression, stress and anxiety
  • The vital elements of a successful marriage
  • How mental well-being is influenced by the response to everyday events
  • How to break bad habits, solve problems, take responsibility, say "no” and more

You'll also hear Dr. Lazarus discuss the answers to such vital questions as:

  • Does hypnosis really work?
  • Could your doctor be causing your illness?
  • What's the best way to lose weight, and keep it off?
  • What is an apology really worth?
  • What can you do to relieve stress?
  • How can one tell the difference between "the blues,” and real depression?
