Mike Brown & Charlie Michaels

Charlie Michaels and Mike Brown
(Interview featured on A Man's World, May 2, 2006)

Marriage it is said is the most demanding team sport ever devised --- more demanding than football, basketball or any other team sport on television. So is it any wonder that so many of us think we'd be happier on another team?

Charlie Michaels and Mike Brown have co written "MASTERING MARRIAGE: For Every Couple Who Wants to Grow Happier and More in Love Each Year. They are cofounders of the Marriage Masters Movement, a free, community-based organization designed to promote happier marriages. They are committed to ridding the world of the clueless ness that keeps people who love each other from staying together.

Married, happily, for 25 years, Charlie and Mike will reveal the most common mistakes couples make that doom their union. These include:

  • Using sex to reward or punish.
  • Putting kids first in life.
  • Trying to be the ideal spouse.
  • Forbidding your husband or wife from looking at other attractive men and women.
  • Insisting your marriage be a democracy.
  • Expecting your spouse to know what you know.
  • Link for Charlie and Michael's new Marraige Masters Website:
This is a free membership website where couples can exchange ideas for creating, strengthening, nurturing and sustaining happy, healthy, lifelong relationships.
